Alison Brie has signed on to co-star in the action-comedy feature film, Freelance, alongside John Cena.
[The film] centers on an ex-special forces operator who, desperate to escape his humdrum life, takes a job providing security for a journalist who is hoping to salvage her career by interviewing a dictator. Things go sideways when a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, and the mismatched duo, along with the dictator, escape to the jungle where they must survive the military chasing them, animals hunting them and each other.
The movie is set to begin production in Colombia later this month!

Alison Brie will be a guest judge on the FOX competition series I Can See Your Voice in 2022! The show will premiere its second season in early January 2022, and Alison will be appearing in one of the later episodes.
It was announced that Alison Brie will be starring alongside Jay Ellis and Kiersey Clemons in the upcoming film Somebody I Used To Know, which will be directed by husband Dave Franco. Also of note, this movie was co-written by Alison and Dave! The film is described as
The film follows workaholic Ally (Brie) who, on a trip to her hometown, spends a night reminiscing with her ex-boyfriend Sean (Ellis), which makes her start to question everything about the choices she’s made and the person she’s become. Things only get more confusing when she meets Cassidy (Clemons), a younger woman who reminds her of the person she used to be.
Dave was quoted during the news about the film saying, “Alison and I love romantic comedies and were inspired by the classics from the ’80s and ’90s,” said Franco. “We couldn’t be more excited about working with Jay and Kiersey, who are both extremely natural performers, capable of bringing levity and drama in equal measure. And we’re so grateful to have partnered with Amazon Studios, who have been incredibly supportive in helping bring this project to life.”

Alison Brie will be lending her voice to a character during the upcoming season of Rick and Morty. The guest appearance was confirmed by Spencer Grammer, who plays Morty’s sister Summer. There is no word on the name of Alison’s character or which episode she appears in, but the new season begins on June 20, 2021.

Alison Brie will star in the indie comedy Spin Me Round, which is she co-wrote with friend Jeff Baena last year during quarantine.
Alison Brie plays the manager of the Bakersfield, California franchise of the Italian chain eatery Tuscan Grove. She wins an all-expenses trip to the company’s gorgeous “institute” outside of Florence, Italy, and the chance to meet the restaurant chain’s wealthy and charismatic owner (Nivola). Along with a mismatched group of local American franchise managers, Amber finds a far different adventure than the romantic fantasy she had imagined.
Production of the film will begin in June on location in Italy.
